Road Trip

We drove 8 hours to Southern California to watch Brett (Kaylee's aunt) graduate from Cal Poly Pomona. Kaylee did great in the car. She mostly slept. She also had a great traveling partner named Mushu. Kaylee got to meet a lot of family and friends while she was down their. At one point we had 5 generations in one room... pretty cool if you ask me. On the way home we all got a little sick which was no fun but all in all it was a successful road trip and we will do again real soon.

Dahlia is a little sad that her man isn't paying much attention to her. Kaylee has no idea what is going on.

This weekend we had a get together and Kaylee's friends Avi and Dahlia came to visit. She had so much fun with them. But I think the parents had more fun especially during the photo shoot.

2 month check up

So Kaylee had her 2 month baby checkup today. Our pediatrician is leaving so we were very sad that this was the last time we would see her. So Kaylee weighed in at 12 pounds 8 oz. That puts her in the 90th percentile. She also had her first round of vaccinations. 3 shots later she was screaming... just like her mom. She did get over it quickly and didn't really have any side effects except for finally sleeping through the night. I'm so proud of my little, big girl.

and it just keeps getting better and better. Just when I thought I couldn't love her more she does something that just melts my heart all over again. Oh I can't wait for what's to come.

She is becoming more entertaining everyday. Today we danced to some silly songs about animals and pretzels and one eyed monsters. She was having so much fun and laughing but the minute I turned on the camera to catch the moment she would give me a dirty look. What is up with that? Maybe she is camera shy. So the only picture I got of her is this one. It's not the best because I took it with my iphone but you can see her emerging giggles.

She also stayed alone with daddy for a bit tonight while I went out to buy some paint. It was very cute because when I got home she was breaking out of her swaddle and I noticed she didn't have anything under it. Daddy said he couldn't find her PJ's so he just skipped putting clothes on her all together. What a classic daddy moment.

7 weeks old

Today Kaylee is 7 weeks old. Some things that she is now doing are smiling more when you talk to her. She likes to cry when you put her down. Yes she is spoiled already and likes to be held... all the time! She likes to be swaddled now to go to sleep, even though she usually breaks out of it by the time she wakes up. She is starting to coo a little. She is now more interested in her play mat, although she still hates tummy time. She makes funny noises when she gets upset. She still LOVES the bath but hates when you take her out of the water. She likes to pretend to hold her bottle when you are feeding her, or just put her hands over her eyes. She also likes to sneak peaks at the TV when ever she can, even if that means she has to break her neck to see it. Mommy tries to face her away from it as much as possible. She also likes to go shopping with mom but most of the time falls asleep because the grocery cart is so soothing. She also is sleeping up to 6 hours during the night. And now it's time for her afternoon nap because she is overly tired.
